Derek Sanderson, Primary Counsellor
I am a counsellor, co-worker, friend, husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and a member of the Thunder Bay Community. I was born and raised in a mining town that I eventually left to live in Thunder Bay, Ontario. After turns in life and discovery, I realized my place was with Native Youth. The warmth, enriching, safety and structure that Ka-Na-Chi-Hih provides for not only it’s clients but staff has given me a great opportunity to bring forth my skills, wisdom, and heart to battle Solvent Abuse first hand, and look for ways to empower our youth to defend themselves and help beat these deadly addictions.
